June 15 1999

Introduction by Reverend Presbyter Demetrios Serfes:

His Holiness Patriarch Alexei of Moscow And All Russia, as well as the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church in Moscow, will consider the matter of the Holy Canonization and Glorification of Emperor Tsar Nicholas II, Tsarina Alexandra, Grand Duke Tsarevich Alexis, Grand Duchesses Olga, Tatiana, Marie and Anastasia, at the Session of Bishops in the year 2000.

The following appeal in this regards is written as an example that all of us can help in this pious and humble appeal that the Holy Canonization and Glorification of Emperor Tsar Nicholas II and his family takes place in Moscow, Russia with the blessings of the Patriarch and the Synod of Bishops of the Moscow Patriarchate.

Please consider in writing to His Holiness Patriarch Alexei II and the Synod of Bishops, as I have indicated the address to write as soon as possible.  Our loving and pious humble appeal will indeed have an effect and help in this spiritual act to take place, on behalf of the Emperor Tsar Nicholas II and his Family:

His Holiness Patriarch Alexei II
The Department of External Church Relations
of the Moscow Patriarchate
Danilov Monastery,
22 Danilovsky Val,
Moscow 113191, Russia

To His Holiness The Most Holy Patriarch
Of Moscow And All Russia, Alexei II,
And To the Synod of Bishops Of the
Russian Orthodox Church,
For Consideration of the Glorification
and Holy Canonization Of
Emperor Tsar Nicholas II And Family,
As Royal Martyrs and Saints.

Your Holiness Patriarch Alexei, And The Synod Of Bishops
Of The Moscow Patriarchate,

EIS POLLA ETI DESPOTA!  GOD GRANT YOU MANY YEARS!

I am sending this letter as a means for you as Patriarch of All Russia, and the ruling Hierarch of Moscow, to consider along with the session of the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church of your Patriarchate the Glorification and the Holy Canonization of the following members of the Imperial Royal Family of Russia: Emperor Tsar Nicholas II, Empress Tsarina Alexandra, Grand Duke Tsarevich Alexis, Grand Duchesses Olga, Tatiana, Marie and Anastasia.

Since a Commission has been established for the consideration for the Holy Canonization and Glorification of the Emperor Tsar Nicholas II and family, and that this commission will make a decision at a Synod of Bishops meeting in the year 2000 this is an appeal for this spiritual act to take place in this regards, and to bring a fuller awareness to this commission, and to the Synod of Bishops of the Moscow Patriarchate and yourself Your Holiness, that the Holy Canonization and Glorification of the Imperial Royal Family of Russia should highly be considered, as outside your great land of Russia, the Imperial Royal Family is deeply respected, and honoured, as well as spiritually looked up to as a God loving Family, and the examples they lived as good and pious Christians.  Not only the Father of Russia the Tsar, and the Mother of Russia the Tsarina, of the Royal Family, but as well as all of their beloved children.

Tsar Nicholas II and his family lived a life of Godliness, and purity, as well as a life of great piety, and applied this during their whole life time, as a perfect Christian example for others to follow during these current times.

This I affirm to you that not only in Russia, but in other countries is the Imperial Royal Family deeply loved, and do considered them as Royal Martyrs, Passion-bearers, and saints.

Now I humbly ask you in prayer, and in this humble appeal  to Your Holiness, as Patriarch of All Russia, and ruling Hierarch of Moscow, as well as your Sacred Synod of Bishops, to consider the Holy Canonization and Glorification of Tsar Nicholas II and his family as Imperial Royal Martyrs and Saints of the Russian Orthodox Church.

May Our Lord God Bless You Always!

Asking your prayers!

Humbly submitted
With the love of Christ Our Lord,
+ Reverend Presbyter Demetrios Serfes
