I humbly present to you from these words from the Holy Prophet Joel: "Gird yourselves with sackcloth, and lament, ye priest; mourn, ye that serve at the altar; go in sleep in sack cloths, ye that minister to God: for the meat-offering and drink-offering are without from the house of your God." (Joel 1:13).

Further onwards again the Holy Prophet Joel tells us: "Now therefore, saith the Lord your God, turn to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with lamentation: and rend your hearts, and not your garments, and turn to the Lord your God: for he is merciful and compassionate, long-suffering, and plenteous in mercy, and repents of evils. Who knows if he will return, and repent, and leave a blessing behind him, even a meat-offering and a drink-offering to the Lord your God?" (Joel 2:12). Both of these Holy Scriptural texts are translations from the "Septuagint Version, Greek And English".

Royal Family of Russia
Royal Family of Russia

The day - July 17, 1998 - and the hour is almost upon us: the sacred and unique event of the Funeral of the Royal Martyrs Tsar Nicholas II, and his most beloved Imperial Family, and his devoted friends and servants. From my previous web sites you will know the burial will take place at Ss. Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Cathedral at the Fortress in St. Petersburg. Preparations are being made: the Royal caskets are being made - sadly not of the best quality, due to the grave economic situation at this time in Russia. The Plaques that will be on the walls near the burial site are now ready - but not in marble, but simply painted wood. Such low key preparations for an Imperial Family!

I, of course, would of thought if assistance was needed for this Royal Funeral, then willing support would of have been forthcoming, not only from within Russia, but even from those who live in other parts of the world. Donations would have been humbly and joyfully sent to give this Royal Funeral its due respect and honor. After all, friends, we do not often bury a Tsar and his family.

Neither the President, Boris Yeltsin, or His Holiness Patriarch Alexey II, who is the Patriarch of Moscow and all of Russia, will attend this Royal Imperial Funeral. This means that the Synod of Bishops of the Moscow Patriarchate will not attend either, as they have serious doubts that the bones being buried on July 17th are truly the bones or the Tsar and family. The Patriarch, with honorable respect to him, has every right to be cautious. However, what the Patriarch is doing by not attending the Imperial Royal Funeral is creating further hardships, spiritually, for those who truly love and even pray to the Tsar Martyr Nicholas II and his family. The Venerable Patriarch has made the decision to stay away. No one, of course, wants to be disrespectful to the Patriarch or his Sacred Synod of Bishops in Russia, but this decision not to attend wounds many hearts and many souls.

Again let me humbly turn again to the Holy Prophet Joel: "...let the priests that minister to the Lord weep, and say, Spare Thy people, O Lord, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them lest they should say among the heathen, Where is their God?" (Joel 2:17).

Perhaps the Patriarch and the Synod of Bishops have failed to appreciate the true meaning of this Imperial Royal Funeral! What a great spiritual opportunity it would have been to call out to the faithful, to offer forgiveness to their own and the people's repentance, and enabling the people to move forward in their spiritual journey, at peace in the knowledge that they have buried with honor and dignity a family who loved one another, loved God, and loved the Russian people, as well as those outside of Russia. The door to this repentance was open, but now the Patriarch and the Synod of Bishops have closed the door once again! Where, might I humbly ask, will the Patriarch and the Synod of Bishops be at this hour? Where? Sadly enough, I must ask the honest question: for the Patriarch and the Synod of Bishops, is this a political or a spiritual decision to stay hidden away from the Royal Imperial Funeral?

The St. Petersburg Times Newspaper has indicated that a pious Russian Orthodox priest named Father Boris Glebov will preside at the burial of the Tsar and his family on July 17, 1998. See this report on http://www.sptimes.ru/current/news.

The actual 45-minute memorial service will begin at 12:15 p.m. on July 17. The funeral will begin earlier in Ykaterinburg, and then the remains of the Holy Royal Martyrs will be brought via Moscow to the Fortress at St. Petersburg. The Russian Government has now released the burial plans, which now indicate that the Imperial Royal Funeral arrangements are finalized! For more information please access http://www.angelfire.com/pa/ImperialRussian/naf.html.

In the meantime I report to you humbly, with a wounded heart, that Father Boris Glebov, at the request of Patriarch Alexey II, will not actually name the Romanovs during the ceremony! Shall we next hear, perhaps, that the plaques bearing the names of those being interred, near the burial area, will be turned around, leaving the impression that all that is being buried are anonymous bones?

But I beg all of you who love the Tsar, and his family, and the countless millions of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia, not to despair. Why?  Because God will indeed be at work after this funeral. We shall indeed see the marvel at an abundance of miracles, and they will continue onward into the next century.  Please see from my previous web sites some of the miracles that have already occured - http://www.serfes.org/royal/miracles.htm. Perhaps even those in higher authority will then have to reconsider their actions, and think again that they too should go to the tomb of these Most Holy Royal Martyrs and pray!

"Say my name with respect, say my name with peace, say my name with honor, say my name because you love peace, say my name because I am your Russia, say my name and do not be afraid of me, be not ashamed of me, be not scared, be not frighten, I am a man with a family who became a Tsar of your Russian Empire whom we all loved. Persecute not my name even in death!"

The Tsarevich Nicholas undertook the heavy burden of being Tsar of All of Russia, knowing without God, and without the support of others, he could not do it alone! The Tsarevich Nicholas, soon to be Tsar knew well that he needed to call upon the saints of the Church to intercede for him, and he also had a deep, devoted love for the Mother of God who in the end the Tsar gave his martyrs Crown too. The Tsar loved as well St. George the Martyr, and in the end Tsar himself became a martyr along with his family.

This Royal Funeral has a special significance for all those who do not want to accept the fact that no one escaped on that horrific night of July 17, 1918. To those in Hollywood, and to those who simply treat this historical tragedy as if it was simply a great detective story, who have not opened up their hearts, minds and souls to the truth, and who continue to support the fiction that some family members escaped - the time has now come for you to reconsider your mistaken ideas, and to ask for the intercession of these Royal Martyrs and to fully realize, too, that they love you and are praying for you all!

Perhaps now more than anything we should ourselves individually pray to the Royal Martyrs Tsar Nicholas and his family. I have compiled over the years several prayers in honor of the Tsar Martyr and Family, and I ask you humbly to join with me in these prayers.

Rest in peace great Soldier of Christ Tsar Nicholas, Tsarina Alexandra, Tsarevich Alexis, Grand Duchesses Olga, Tatiana, Marie and Anastasia. Please humbly pray for us and guide us to once again learn of the great and Holy Cross you bore for us, and help us to understand the mystery of God's great Mercy and Love! Amen!

Let me now humbly share with you this closing prayer from John Wilson Smith: "All Glory, power and honor be to the Lord! May His saints sing with joy that He is victorious!  Russia Is His! The land belongs to no other power or authority. It is His! The people of the land are His! He has bought them with His own blood, and with the blood of those, like our beloved Tsar and his family, who have given their lives out of love and devotion to Him! Lord, after those two days, send revival. On the third day, raise up a might spiritual army to re-take Russia for Thine Holy Name. Amen."

I humbly thank John Wilson Smith (who lives in England) for his assistance with this page.
