A Blessed and spiritually rewarding New Year to all loving Christian souls!  Chronia Polla!  Many Years!

Let us remember to move forward in the New Year with Christ our Lord Jesus Christ who watches over us, and love us.  Let this year be full of faith, love and hope in Christ!

The Holy Theophany of our Savior Jesus Christ is a commemoration of His great light, and being immersed in the Jordan rose again out of the Jordan for our salvation.

"Theophany" means the appearance of God.  After Pascha Easter and Pentecost, Theophany is considered the third greatest feast of the Eastern Orthodox Church.  It commemorates the baptism in the River Jordan by St. John the Baptist.

Our holy Father St. Cyril of Alexandria wrote that the beginning of the world was water; the beginning of the Gospel was the Jordan when the Most Holy Trinity was revealed to the senses.  The Father spoke saying, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

Then the Holy Spirit was seen in the form of a dove hovering over the waters, and St. John the Baptist bore witness saying, and with many other witnesses (an innumerable mulitude of people from the Jerusalem, Judea, and all the country of the Jordan surround him) at the Jordan River: "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."  Christ our Lord took on the sin of the world, so that we as His followers -Christians can recognize the need for true repentance, and behold the Lamb of God.

May all of us during this New Year behold the great loving Lamb of God, and direct our whole life to Him, being enlightened by faith, to the Holy Theophany, eagerly receive the joyous rays of the Divine dispensation of our salvation, released by the Merciful word of God the Father.  Let us then take great spiritual delight in the love of our God.
